Red Fox Retouching
This before-and-after example demonstrates AI-assisted retouching combined with traditional post-production techniques to refine a generative base image into commercial-ready imagery. The original red fox image was generated using Midjourney. Post-production focused on selectively removing distracting falling-leaf artifacts, refining edge definition along the fox’s silhouette removing artifacts, and correcting fur inconsistencies introduced by the generative process. Manual masking and targeted cleanup were used to preserve natural fur texture while simplifying background motion and visual noise. Additional refinements included balancing foreground-to-background depth, smoothing transitional bokeh areas, and tightening overall composition to maintain clear subject focus. The result is a cleaner, more controlled image with improved visual hierarchy—well suited for editorial, environmental, or commercial stock use where clarity, restraint, and adaptability are required.
